Standing for AD 51

In 2019 Jane Demian stood from AD 51 for the California Cemocratic Party Central Committee.

Presently, I am an Assembly District 51 delegate and I am running for another 2 year-term. I am also running as Executive Board representative for this district. Within the past two years I have co-authored Resolution 17-05.81 Expressing the Support of the California Democratic Party In Protecting Renters from No-fault Evictions and Illegal or Excessive Rent Increases and Support Rent Stabilization which was ratified unanimously at the May, 2017 Convention; I wrote a Bylaws amendment for ADEM elections which was accepted by the Rules Committee; and I wrote a Platform Amendment to protect rent-controlled buildings which was accepted into the 2018 Platform. I campaigned for Proposition 10 and have supported renters’ rights and housing policies that protect renters and rent-controlled housing. I have worked with local government, City Council, the Neighborhood Council system, and have been in contact with legislators, and tenant rights groups throughout the State. I am seeking to continue to work to improve housing affordability, to reduce homelessness, and for economic, social and environmental justice. I seek to improve the integrity of the Democratic Party through transparency, good communication and equal treatment of its members. [1]
