Dennis Heck is a Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives, representing the 10th district of Washington.[1]

The Council said of Heck;
- Throughout the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, Heck has been vocal about our responsibility to bring our troops home and care for our returning veterans.
- Heck is the only Democrat running in the 10th. He has two Republican opponents, both likely to support the kinds of policies pursued by the George W. Bush administration.
- Heck, on the other hand, will support the progressive foreign policies we favor. [3]

On December 17, 2015, Rep. Don Beyer, Jr. introduced legislation condemning "violence, bigotry, and hateful rhetoric towards Muslims in the United States." The legislation is based on unsourced claims that there is a "rise of hateful and anti-Muslim speech, violence, and cultural ignorance," and a "disproportionate targeting" of "Muslim women who wear hijabs, headscarves, or other religious articles of clothing...because of their religious clothing, articles, or observances."
