The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) will hold a public meeting Thursday night, June 15 2017, at 7PM in Ybor City to try to build a chapter of the organization. Rob’s guests are three DSA members: Justin Garcia, Kara Malin and Christian Brooks.[2]

Demands To Protect Reproductive Rights - Tampa DSA

We, the members of Tampa Democratic Socialists of America (TDSA), have developed a list of demands in response to the recent overturning of Roe v. Wade by the Supreme Court. This decision is an affront to bodily autonomy and democracy, and poses a mortal threat to the health and wellbeing of the working class. In order to help protect our communities, we have compiled the following list of demands of our elected officials and community members in positions of power, and call on others to sign on and join us in delegitimizing this ruling:

Say YES to Free Abortion for All People, on Demand, Without Apology - We demand the federal codification of the right to abortion for all people in all circumstances, no exceptions. - We demand federally funded coverage for all abortion services. Abolish the Hyde Amendment. - We demand all healthcare for all people free at the point of service. Medicare for All means Abortion for All. - We demand US House Representative Kathy Castor sign onto H.R.1976 - the Medicare for All Act of 2021, a bill which guarantees “comprehensive reproductive, maternity, and newborn care” for all.
