WHAT CITY OR NEIGHBORHOOD ARE YOU IN? Silverlake
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN INVOLVED WITH DSA-LA? January 2017 WHAT ABOUT DSA MADE YOU WANT TO JOIN? I wanted to get more involved after being frustrated by the 2016 election and the lack of opportunity to participate in the political process beyond voting or working for a specific candidate. I joined DSA in search of a participatory politics that offered the opportunity to work directly on issues that I cared about. I also wanted to learn more about the society that I live in with people who were similarly motivated. Finally, I highly valued that DSA-LA’s organizational structure is such that members are able to decide for themselves how they feel they can best contribute as opposed to a top-down structure where you’re presented with only limited options of what you can do.
