Background
Jade Bahr was born in Crow Agency, MT which lies on the Apsalooke Reservation. She is an enrolled member of the Northern Cheyenne tribe. At age 3 she moved with her mother and brother, Jake, to Billings, MT. She grew up and graduated from Billings Senior high but while growing up spent her summers living on the Crow Reservation with her grandparents. After high school Jade earned a bachelor's degree in Sociology with an emphasis in Inequalities and Social Justice from the University of Montana in Missoula, MT. She began her interest in social services 10 years ago after working as a receptionist at a foster-care network for Native American youth. She saw a real need for these services and continued to work for programs targeted toward at-risk youth at organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters, New Day Youth Group home and Day Treatment, and also Missoula Parks and Recreation summer camps & after-school programs. She currently has been working the last four years with adults with disability in supported living and supported employment services. Today she continues to be an engaged member of the Billings community, focusing on standing up for social justice.[1]

Montana Democratic Socialists of America July 2 2018.[5]
- 40 #beautifullsocialists, all members of the Democratic Socialists of America, convened for the first ever Montana DSA statewide meeting in Helena yesterday. We discussed how we could work together for Medicare for All, on the Poor People's Campaign, electing DSA members to the Montana legislature, for a Populist PAC, exploring fusion voting, and organizing socialists for statewide coordination and action.
- This was the largest meeting of organized socialists in Montana in at least four decades, and over 1/4 of our statewide membership attended. Most Montana communities of over 10,000 people were represented, including members from chapters in Billings DSA, Western MT DSA, Bozeman DSA, Glacier DSA, and Helena DSA.
