Eric Braxton
Eric Braxton is the West/Southwest Organizing Project Director at One Pennsylvania where he is working to build a base of working class neighbors in West and Southwest Philadelphia to fight for racial and economic justice. Eric has lived his whole life in West Philadelphia and has been organizing since the age of 19. After high school he helped found the Philadelphia Student Union and served as its Executive Director for twelve years, organizing high schools students across Philadelphia for educational justice. He later served as the Executive Director of the Funders’ Collaborative on Youth Organizing for ten years, where he organized philanthropic advocacy to substantially increase funding for youth organizing nationally, designed grantmaking initiatives to move millions of dollars to grassroots youth organizing groups, and led field building programs to support youth organizing groups in building alignment and meaningful power.[1]
He is associated with the Freedom Road Socialist Organization.
