Carlos Martinez

Carlos Martinez is a member of LeftRoots and co-author of Venezuela Speaks! Voices from the Grassroots (PM Press, 2010), a collection of testimonios from members of Venezuela’s social movements. He is currently a PhD student in Medical Anthropology at UCSF and UC Berkeley, where he is researching political economies of health, radical health movements, and Latin American social medicine.[1]

In April 2016 Francesca Fiorentini of Al Jazeera interviewed LeftRoots members Maria Poblet, Carlos Martinez (educator), and Ying-sun Ho (musician) on socialism over brunch. Academic Jamie McCallum was part of the group.
