St. Petersburg International Economic Forum
From description of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2024 Panel Discussion: ‘the Empire Of Evil’: Has The West Successfully Demonized Russia? panel discussion:[1],[2]
- "Western political elites and media have spent decades cultivating a negative image of Russia. Over the past two years demonisation of Russia has reached new levels. The country is now seen as a threat to the whole of Europe. Claims that the conflict in Ukraine is just the first step have become axiomatic in Western discourse. Has the West's smear campaign succeeded? Are people in NATO countries convinced that Russia is to be feared? Is there consensus among the EU nations and the U.S.? Which trends in which countries dominate in 2024?

Tara Reade 'Seeks Santuary' in Russia
In an article titled "Tara Reade: Biden accuser explains why she decided to flee the US and seek sanctuary in Russia" for Russia Today dated June 29, 2023, Tara Reade writes in part:[5]
- Later this summer, I was supposed to testify before the US Congress about President Joe Biden’s actions towards me and the weaponization of the Department of Justice. Best-laid plans, and all that! A few days after my arrival (in Moscow), I found myself giving a press conference stating that I could not go back to the US.
- This is because I could face charges and possible indictment for an ominous menu of kangaroo-court offenses, including sanctions violations, FARA (Foreign Agents Registration Act) violations and any number of other things.
- There’s a sealed Department of Justice indictment against me and I still don’t know what that’s about. My human rights attorney warned me that, under current US law, I could have sealed charges I am unaware of until taken into custody. A sitting US Congressman said he feared for my physical safety if I came back to the US.
- I decided to stay and got help from Maria Butina, a Russian State Duma member, in applying for asylum. Maria knew the terror and grim reality of being in US prisons, having spent 15 months locked up for allegedly acting as an unregistered “foreign agent.” They kept her in solitary confinement for months and made her life a living hell. Yet, Maria maintained her compassion and care for ordinary Americans and saved her anger for those in charge who caused her misery. Maria had been on my podcast several times as we discussed the two-tier American justice system and its brutal use of torture.
[...]
- I had always had a special place in my heart for Russia. The russophobia and bigotry in the Western media against Russians was very disturbing to me. Then, it became flat out xenophobia. The playbook used by the elite to manipulate the press was the same, whether going after individuals like me that were whistleblowing corruption, or whole nations like Russia. This method is used to vilify, isolate, and finally replace the truth with a state-approved narrative.
- I decided to take back control and held a press conference to proudly declare my intentions to stay in Russia. I got myself some amazing human rights lawyers who took my case under their wing and sorted through the international implications. Recently, the Russian Federation granted me temporary asylum. So, I have decided to stay.
Scott Ritter Defense
An article by Chuck Ross at the Washington Free Beacon titled "Pedophile Pulls Out of Libertarian ‘Anti-War’ Rally" dated February 10, 2023[6] revealed that due to controversy over Scott Ritter being a pedophile, he pulled out of the Rage Against the War Machine protest held on February 19, 2023 organized by the Movement for a People's Party and the Libertarian Party against US intervention in Russia's attack on Ukraine:
- "Convicted pedophile Scott Ritter has pulled out of a Libertarian Party-sponsored anti-war rally later this month following outcry over his criminal history.
- Ritter, a former United Nations weapons inspector, announced that "for personal reasons" he will no longer be speaking at the "Rage Against the War Machine" rally at the Lincoln Memorial on Feb. 19. The Libertarian Party and People's Party, a left-wing group, are holding the event to protest U.S. support for Ukraine. They are also calling to "slash" the Pentagon budget and "abolish" the CIA.
- Ritter’s withdrawal caps a tumultuous behind-the-scenes debate over whether he should appear at the rally. Libertarian Party leaders asked Ritter to withdraw from the event last week after a Washington Free Beacon report about his criminal past. Ritter was detained twice in 2001 after he arranged meetings with undercover police officers posing as a 14-year-old girl and 15-year-old girl. He was sentenced to prison in 2011 after he masturbated online in front of an undercover cop posing as a 15-year-old girl.
- Ritter was reinstated to the event after outcry from some of his fellow speakers. Andrew Napolitano, a former Fox News analyst, rallied to Ritter’s defense. So did Tara Reade, the former Joe Biden aide who has leveled unconfirmed sexual assault allegations against the president.
- Ritter released text from the speech he planned to give at the rally. In it, Ritter strikes a decidedly pro-Russia tone and recites from Martin Luther King, Jr.’s "I Have a Dream" speech, which the civil rights leader gave at the Lincoln Memorial nearly 60 years ago.
- "I too have a dream," Ritter says in his prepared remarks. "That by overcoming the hate generated by systemic Russophobia we can work with our fellow human beings in Russia to create communities of compassion that, when united, make a world filled with nuclear weapons undesirable, and policies built on the principles of mutually beneficial arms control second nature."
- Nick Brana, the head of the People's Party, said it was "a shame" that Ritter pulled out of the event.
- "Scott Ritter is a hero who has done more to stop war and save lives than almost anyone on Earth," said Brana, who served as national political outreach coordinator for Bernie Sanders’s 2016 presidential campaign.
Rage Against the War Machine
Rage Against the War Machine was a protest held on February 19, 2023 organized by the Movement for a People's Party and the Libertarian Party against US intervention in Russia's attack on Ukraine. Tara Reade was a speaker listed on the Rage Against the War Machine website.[7]
Tara Reade Appearance on Tucker Carlson
In December 2022, Tara Reade appeared on Tucker Carlson's show, where she alleged that she was sexually assaulted by Joe Biden.
Disappointed in Bernie Sanders
On February 19, 2022, Tara Reade tweeted:[8]
- "When did Bernie Sanders step on the American military industrial complex propaganda pro war, Russophobia bus? 💔Can someone bring him back?"
Russia Today
On April 25, 2021, Tara Reade wrote an OpEd titled "Doing diplomacy with the US is like trying to appease an abusive partner in a toxic relationship", where she writes in part:[9]
- "While sanctions can do substantial harm to a country’s economy, anti-Russian rhetoric creates further chaos in an already challenging geopolitical landscape. Yet American leadership has decided aggressive Trojan-horse diplomacy will work to some unknown advantage.
- Correct me if I’m wrong, but does it look like Russia will jump like a dog to every one of Joe Biden’s beckoning commands for a meeting? Nor should they. Let him reap the consequences of his reckless mouthing off for once. He obviously isn’t going to face any consequences at home in the US, for anything – not in this current political climate, at least, not yet.
- A Russian-American partnership could be the infusion of balance and stability our world needs. The innovations and creativity we could achieve with this partnership would be breathtaking. Of course, at this point, it’s a utopian notion, and every day under the Biden administration is another step further from even a semblance of normality.
- "We need a true diplomatic approach, not the buffoonish Joe Biden posturing and trying to swing his withered, aged ego around at Russia. We need to bring in forward-thinking professionals with eyes unclouded by inward-oriented political posturing, who have plans for a future that doesn’t involve a planet turned into a wasteland by poverty, war and climate change.
- As an American citizen, I have found the imperialistic approach to our changing world archaic. It is because I wish my country to evolve into a better nation, not to stagnate and devolve while continuing to bomb other nations for profit simply because it keeps working and the cash keeps flowing to the top 1%.
Tara Reade’s Sexual Assault Allegation Against Joe Biden
Ms. Reade, a former Senate aide, has accused Mr. Biden of assaulting her in 1993 and says she told others about it. A Biden spokeswoman said the allegation is false, and former Senate office staff members do not recall such an incident.
"Unite Against the Imperialists"
A video showing American socialists flying pro-Russia flags has gone viral on social media.
The Center for Political Innovation, or CPIUSA, which describes itself as an "educational think tank focused on the construction of American socialism" , shared the video from the opening of a conference dubbed "Unite Against the Imperialists" in Chicago, Illinois, on its Twitter August 2022.
The video began with a man and woman, both wearing red berets, walking towards a stage, one carrying the U.S. flag and the other holding a Soviet victory banner.
They stand on the stage, hands held aloft as music plays— the left-wing anthem, the Internationale followed by the Star-Spangled Banner—and are moments later joined by three others who stand in front of the stage.
One held up China's flag while another carried the flag of the Moscow-backed self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic in eastern Ukraine.
The woman in the middle held up a black sign with the letter "Z" on it—a symbol that has become associated with support for Russian President Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine, which began in late February.
"We at CPI celebrate the great moment in history where Russia, China and America stood together to defeat fascism, Those are the politics we want to revive," CPIUSA founder and journalist Caleb Maupin told Newsweek.[10]
The group gave an award to former U.S. Senate staffer Tara Reade, who once accused President Joe Biden of sexual assault.
The August 6 conference was to mark the opening of a Center for Political Innovation office in Chicago.[11]
