Multipolarity is the latest iteration of a concept heavily advocated by communists promoting end of the global dominance, or "hegemony" of the West in favor of other nations, particularly Russia, China and Iran.

Multipolarity is largely associated with Aleksandr Dugin, who wrote the book "The Theory of a Multipolar World" published in 2020.[1]

St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2024

Aussie Cossack X Post dated June 6, 2024: "EXCLUSIVE: Russian political philosopher Aleksander Dugin admits the true role of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is actually a tool for promoting the emerging multipolar world order. BRICS 2.0 is the future of planet earth."

Aussie Cossack released a video of Aleksandr Dugin "admitting" that "the true role of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum that took place in June, 2024 is actually a tool for promoting the emerging multipolar world order."[2] Aleksandr Dugin explains that the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum has emerged as a key tool for promoting a multipolar world order without Western influence, marking a natural progression and the beginning of a shift towards multipolarity.

Transcript (Verbatim)

"After the beginning of the special military operation, the meaning of this speech has changed objectively because the West was cut and without the West, it is something new that has rested and that normally The Forum has become a kind of natural platform for multipolarity from promotion and thought of a multipolar World Order. And this time, it is the first time that the agenda is dedicated exactly precisely for that for multipolarity. But I think that this is just the beginning. It is the first multipolar forum in St. Petersburg because there is no other direction of development outside of promotion of multipolarity. So, there is the destiny to continue this line and I think that we could call that a kind of uh uh something analogous of uh multipolar DS but we are just in the beginning of the process. It is the first uh first step and today in the very important session of Russia today, the Indian lady has said that we need multipolarity or BRICS 2.0.
So we need to come to the another level of understanding and promoting of multipolarity. And I think that a logical goal of this forum is to serve that precisely so I think that we we are just in the beginning of the change of the nature of the previous forum into something new that is St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2.0 that will be precisely the tool and maybe one of most important tools of promotion of multipolarity.

'The Era Of The West's Sole Hegemony Has Ended'

'The Era Of The West's Sole Hegemony Has Ended' Speech by Aleksandr Dugin

On March 1, 2024, Memri translated Aleksandr Dugin's speech at the International Russophile Movement:[3],[4]

On February 26, 2024, renowned anti-liberal Russian philosopher Alexander Dugin spoke at the Second Congress of the International Russophile Movement (IMR) and the Forum on Multipolarity in Moscow. The event at the Lomonosov Innovation Centre of Moscow State University brought together foreign delegates from more than 130 countries. The event was attended by Russian government officials, political and public figures, and representatives of science and culture. Among the Russian speakers, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, political philosopher Alexander Dugin, and the chairman of the media group Tsargrad Konstantin Malofeev who is also the head of the World Russian People's Council. It is worth noting that on February 27, 2024, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov took part in the opening ceremony of the 2nd Congress of the International Russophile Movement in Moscow.
One of the most acclaimed speeches was Dugin's, in which he stated that the multipolar world is "primarily a philosophy." "In this world, there are only Western values. Only one political system – liberal democracy. Only one economic model – neoliberal capitalism. Only one culture – postmodernism. Only one conception of genders and family – LGBT. Only one version of development – technological perfection up to post-humanism and the complete displacement of humanity by AI and cyborgs... Multipolarity is an alternative philosophy. It is based on the fundamental objection: the West is not all of humanity but only a part of it – a region, a province. It is not the civilization in the singular, but one of several civilizations," Dugin said.

Dugin's Speech

"Multipolarity Stands In Opposition Not To The West Itself But Specifically To The West's Claims Of Uniqueness And Universality"

"The multipolar world is primarily a philosophy. At its core lies a critique of Western universalism.
"The West has racistly and imperialistically identified itself with humanity. There was a time when Britain claimed all seas and oceans as its own. Western civilization declared all of humanity its property – primarily its consciousness. This led to the formation of a unipolar world.
"In this world, there are only Western values. Only one political system – liberal democracy. Only one economic model – neoliberal capitalism. Only one culture – postmodernism. Only one conception of genders and family – LGBT. Only one version of development – technological perfection up to post-humanism and the complete displacement of humanity by AI and cyborgs.
"According to its proponents, the unipolar world is the 'triumph of world history', the total victory of the modern Western era – liberalism, which has become the sole and indisputable ideology of all humanity.
"Multipolarity is an alternative philosophy. It is based on the fundamental objection: the West is not all of humanity but only a part of it – a region, a province. It is not the civilization in the singular, but one of several civilizations. There are at least seven such civilizations today – hence the most important concept of the multipolar theory – the heptarchy.
"Some civilizations are already united into huge continental States, civilization-states, or wénmíng guójiā (文明国家). For others, this is yet to come. The collective West, NATO countries, and vassals of the USA are just one of the poles.
"Three more are:
-Russia-Eurasia,
-Great China (Zhōngguó 中国) or Tiānxià (天下)

Multipolarity Dominant Concept in MAGA Communism

Haz Al-Din X Post dated March 7, 2024
X Posts featuring Jackson Hinkle, Aleksandr Dugin, Haz Al-Din

From article at "Spider & the Fly" titled "Try to Wrap Your Head Around ‘MAGA Communism’" dated March 2024:[5]

"An insidious attempt to infiltrate American conservatism is making an impact in presumptive GOP candidate President Donald Trump’s “Make America Great Again” movement. Josef Stalin enthusiast and master propagandist Aleksandr Dugin is the indisputable thought leader of the campaign, the latest in a string of similar attempts to hijack conservatism in America and Europe.
The foundation of MAGA Communism is the concept of “Multipolarity” (as opposed to Unipolarity), which seeks to realign the planet in favor of Russia, China, and Iran to the detriment of the United States. “Unipolarity”, as explained by Dugin, is how the world is currently situated, with “the global West in its centre and with the United States as its core.” Dugin has made it clear that America’s existence as it stands today constitutes an “ideological aggression” because America believes that western values are “universal” and reflect all countries.
MAGA Communism disregards traditional American conservatism i.e. Limited Government and inalienable rights. Rather it is communism, but not “woke”. MAGA Communism is anti-Trans agenda, anti-feminist, pro-family, anti-Israel and anti-Ukraine.
MAGA Communism is categorized by intense opposition to “globalism” as prescribed by subversive organizations such as the World Economic Forum, which resonates with conservatives. But in its place, MAGA Communists promote Multipolarity. Importantly, Dugin sees America’s influence - and therefore America’s values - as oppressive and representative of Unipolarity.
The face of MAGA Communism is undoubtedly Jackson Hinkle, a self-described “Christian Communist American Patriot” and “Haz Al-Din”, head of the communist collective “Infrared” and “pioneer” of MAGA Communism. “Globalism is the root of all evil, not communism,” declared Hinkle on X in July 2022.
It is doubtful that Americans who support President Trump would agree that Russia and her allies must stomp on America and diminish her influence in the world. Despite this, MAGA Communism is having an impact on unsuspecting Americans.
The seemingly contradictory concept of “MAGA Communism” is the latest manifestation of Russian propaganda, a clear example of “Aktivnye meropriyatiya”, or “Ideological Subversion”, as described by the late Russian defector Yuri Bezmenov.

Will BRICS launch a new world in 2024?

Excerpt from Pepe Escobar's article at The Cradle titled "Will BRICS launch a new world in 2024?" dated March 15, 2024:[8]

"MOSCOW – Across the Global South, countries are lining up to join the multipolar BRICS and the Hegemon-free future it promises. The onslaught of interest has become an unavoidable theme of discussion during this crucial year of the Russian presidency of what, for the moment, is BRICS-10.
Indonesia and Nigeria are among the top tiers of candidates likely to join. The same applies to Pakistan and Vietnam. Mexico is in a very complex bind: how to join without summoning the ire of the Hegemon.
And then there's the new candidacy on a roll: Yemen, which enjoys plenty of support from Russia, China, and Iran.
It's been up to Russia's top BRICS sherpa, the immensely capable Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov, to clarify what's ahead. He tells TASS:
We must provide a platform for the countries interested in rapprochement with the BRICS, where they will be able to work practically without feeling left behind and joining this cooperation rhythm. And as to how the further expansion will be decided upon – this should be postponed at least until the leaders convene in Kazan to decide.

[...]

In a private meeting with a few select individuals on the sidelines of the recent multipolar conference in Moscow,[9] Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov spoke effusively of BRICS, with particular emphasis on his counterparts Wang Yi of China and S. Jaishankar of India.
Lavrov holds great expectations for BRICS-10 this year – at the same time, reminding everyone that this is still a club; it must eventually go deeper in institutional terms, for instance, by appointing a secretariat-general, just like its cousin-style organization, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO)...

A 'New International Order'

Screenshot from 2024 World Youth Festival Program

During Vladimir Putin's 2024 World Youth Festival, Sergey Lavrov took part in a Panel Discussion titled "Russia and Its Role in the Formation of a Multipolar World". Other speakers included Mikhail Gusman First Deputy General Director of the TASS Russian News Agency, Anatoly Torkunov, Rector of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, and Leonid Drachevsky, Executive Director of the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Support Fund. The event had as its "Partners": Russian Znanie Society and Moscow State Institute of International Relations.

From the description:[10]

"A unipolar world is a world of one master, one sovereign. Such a system is unjust and destructive for all. New centers of political influence are uniting against the pressure of pseudo-democracy. Leading experts from the diplomatic corps will discuss the balance of interests and the new international order.

International Russophile Movement Conferences

The Multipolar Forum took place on February 26, 2024 and the International Congress of Russophiles took place on February 27, 2024.[11]

Second Meeting of the International Russophile Movement

On February 27, 2024, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov took part in the opening ceremony of the 2nd Congress of the International Russophile Movement in Moscow.
Sergei Lavrov, keynote speaker, Inaugural Conference March 14, 2023

The 2nd Congress of the International Russophile Movement took place in Moscow on February 27, 2024. From Memri:[12]

"On February 27, 2024, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov took part in the opening ceremony of the 2nd Congress of the International Russophile Movement in Moscow. The event at the Lomonosov Innovation Centre of Moscow State University brought together foreign delegates from more than 130 countries. The event was attended by Russian government officials, political and public figures, and representatives of science and culture.
Sergey Lavrov delivered a welcoming speech and read out a message from President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to the participants of the congress, which stated that the Russophile Movement "contributes to countering the attempts of the collective West to isolate Russia internationally."
During the welcoming speech, Lavrov added: "It seems fitting that the destructive course adopted by the Western elites to isolate Russia, including in the global media and cultural spaces, and the overall determination to cancel everything dealing with our country in one way or another, has failed miserably."

Gateway Pundit author Larry C. Johnson was a "special guest":[13]

"The conference convened Monday morning. Over 310 delegates and special guests representing more than 115 countries. I was one of the “special guests” and one of only 6 Americans. The others included Scott Bennett, former member of Congress Cynthia McKinney (a real sweetheart of a person, plus smart as hell), blogger and podcaster Patrick Henningsen and Jackson Hinkle. There was another great young guy, Conrad, but I didn’t get his permission to publish his name.
I met and had an extended chat with Sheik Imran Hoesin of Trinidad Tobago and with Princess Vittoria of Italy. Every continent was represented. I met the grandson of Nelson Mandela (Mandla Mandela), for example, and congratulated him and the Government of South Africa for standing in support of the people of Palestine.
I made a short presentation to the conference, noting that this gathering to discuss multi-polarity is taking place as the old Western order — the U.S. unipole — is dying out. I am sure that neither Russia nor China imagined that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is 2022 would set in motion a series of events that would lead to the unraveling to the so-called “rules based international order.” The days of the United States bossing around the rest of the world is coming to an end.
I repeated the point I made in an earlier posting at sonar21.com about the rank hypocrisy of Western leaders bemoaning the death of racist Alexey Nalvany while ignoring the murder of Gonzalo Lira and remaining mute regarding the fate of Julian Assange. That comment elicited quite a positive reaction from the crowd.
Russia is the most appropriate country in the world to host a conference on “multi-polarity.” Russia is a living, breathing example of that concept, as the largest country in the world and home to over 190 ethnic groups nationwide. Russia is not saddled with a racist legacy like Europe or the United States. As a “slavic” nation it learned first hand in the course of its history the meaning of the term, SLAVE. Russia is in a unique position to teach the rest of the world how to live and sing the coke anthem (i.e., “I’d like to teach the world to sing, in perfect harmony”). This is not Russian propaganda nor is it idle lip service. Unlike Coca Cola, multi-polarity is the real think in Russia. Russia demonstrates how a nation can be Christian and still respect and honor the minority faiths of muslims, hindus and buddahists.
"The trip was personally gratifying because of the number of people from around the world — e.g, Cyprus, Colombia, Romania, Italy, Myanmar and Indonesia — who asked to have their photo with me because they saw me on Judge Napolitano’s program. And all made sure to sing the praises of Ray McGovern, Douglas Macgregor, Scott Ritter and John Mearsheimer as well.

Guests interviewed include:[14] Sheikh Imran Hosein, Jeff Monson, Pepe Escobar, Hamza Idris, Joseph Rose, Princess Vittoria Alliata di Villafranca, Maram Susli and Cynthia McKinney.

Interview with Russian Propagandist

On May 14, 2023, Carlo Maria Vigano was interviewed[15] by Russian propagandist Arkady Mamontov of Rossiya, where he claimed that Ukraine is "backed by clearly neo-Nazi extremist movements", engaging in religious persecution and that the "Ukrainian Crisis" was planned by the "American deep state".

Notably, Carlo Maria Vigano repeatedly used the term Multipolarity, a concept heavily promoted by Aleksandr Dugin that predicts the fall of the West, especially the United States, in favor of a world influenced by the BRICS nations.:[16]

"...to prevent an alliance between the European nations and the Russian Federation, balkanizing it and trying to isolate it through regime change operations and through 'colored springs,' as happened in Ukraine and as they tried to do in Georgia. This first objective has failed, as has the attempt to bring down President Putin. On the contrary, we are witnessing the establishment of a multipolar world, for example with the BRICS, in which de-dollarization is putting the United States in the corner."
  • Referencing his opinion of America:
"Furthermore, there is a sort of persuasion that America is somehow the 'world’s sheriff,' an idea that clashes with the legitimate sovereignty of other nations. The present economic and political crisis provoked by the coup of the deep state could help Americans become aware of the need for profound internal reform. This reform will certainly be possible if President Donald Trump is re-elected and is able to liberate this great nation by bringing it into the multipolar alliance of peoples." Carlo Maria Vigano posted the interview on his website.[17]
The Christian order, regardless of the system of government that citizens choose, is the only order that protects the common good of all peoples, bringing them the light of the true God. On the other hand, the supposedly “secular state” has been demonstrated to be a fraud with which Christianity is marginalized from society in order to replace it with the globalist religion of ecologism, cancel culture, ethnic substitution, and the health dictatorship.
I believe this is the “multipolar” approach to which President Putin often refers: respecting the identity and freedom of the peoples, united by their common Christian heritage. Authors note: Christians are heavily persecuted in Russia.[18] In 2018, Vladimir Putin compared Christianity to communism.[19]

'The Tragic Collapse of the Soviet Union'

During a speech claiming "the accession of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Lugansk People’s Republic, Zaporozhye Region and Kherson Region to the Russian Federation" a (violation of the Minsk Accord)[20] dated September 30, 2022,[21] Vladimir Putin Vladimir Putin mourned the "tragic collapse of the Soviet Union" stating in part:

In 1991 in Belovezhskaya Pushcha, representatives of the party elite of that time made a decision to terminate the Soviet Union, without asking ordinary citizens what they wanted, and people suddenly found themselves cut off from their homeland. This tore apart and dismembered our national community and triggered a national catastrophe. Just like the government quietly demarcated the borders of Soviet republics, acting behind the scenes after the 1917 revolution, the last leaders of the Soviet Union, contrary to the direct expression of the will of the majority of people in the referendum of 1991, destroyed our great country, and simply made the people in the former republics face this as an accomplished fact.

While Vladimir Putin claimed further that restoring the Soviet Union "isn’t our ambition", he contradicts himself by claiming that " there is nothing stronger than the determination of millions of people who, by their culture, religion, traditions, and language, consider themselves part of Russia, whose ancestors lived in a single country for centuries. There is nothing stronger than their determination to return to their true historical homeland."

Vladimir Putin continued with a message to "the West":

"I want the Kiev authorities and their true handlers in the West to hear me now, and I want everyone to remember this: the people living in Lugansk and Donetsk, in Kherson and Zaporozhye have become our citizens, forever."

Vladimir Putin further ranted against "the West":

We have never agreed to and will never agree to such political nationalism and racism. What else, if not racism, is the Russophobia being spread around the world? What, if not racism, is the West’s dogmatic conviction that its civilisation and neoliberal culture is an indisputable model for the entire world to follow? “You’re either with us or against us.” It even sounds strange.
Western elites are even shifting repentance for their own historical crimes on everyone else, demanding that the citizens of their countries and other peoples confess to things they have nothing to do with at all, for example, the period of colonial conquests.
It is worth reminding the West that it began its colonial policy back in the Middle Ages, followed by the worldwide slave trade, the genocide of Indian tribes in America, the plunder of India and Africa, the wars of England and France against China, as a result of which it was forced to open its ports to the opium trade. What they did was get entire nations hooked on drugs and purposefully exterminated entire ethnic groups for the sake of grabbing land and resources, hunting people like animals. This is contrary to human nature, truth, freedom and justice.
While we – we are proud that in the 20th century our country led the anti-colonial movement, which opened up opportunities for many peoples around the world to make progress, reduce poverty and inequality, and defeat hunger and disease.

Vladimir Putin further speaks on Multipolarity, a concept that has been promoted heavily by Aleksandr Dugin:

"The world has entered a period of a fundamental, revolutionary transformation. New centres of power are emerging. They represent the majority – the majority! – of the international community. They are ready not only to declare their interests but also to protect them. They see in multipolarity an opportunity to strengthen their sovereignty, which means gaining genuine freedom, historical prospects, and the right to their own independent, creative and distinctive forms of development, to a harmonious process.

As I have already said, we have many like-minded people in Europe and the United States, and we feel and see their support. An essentially emancipatory, anti-colonial movement against unipolar hegemony is taking shape in the most diverse countries and societies. Its power will only grow with time. It is this force that will determine our future geopolitical reality.

Multipolarity was triggered by the 2003 US invasion of Iraq

In an article with the tagline "Twenty years after the unlawful and destabilizing US-led invasion of Iraq, Washington must face the ultimate consequence of that war: UNSC powers China and Russia laying the foundation for a genuine, UN Charter-based system of multipolarism" dated March 20, 2023 at The Cradle, Karin Kneissl wrote in part:[22]

"China and Russia and the multipolar order
Twenty years to the day, Chinese President Xi Jinping will embark on a three-day state visit to Moscow, and the focus will extend beyond bilateral energy relations, which have been a consistent priority since 2004.
As previously stated in their joint declaration in Beijing in February 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Chinese counterpart aim to coordinate their foreign policy and advance it together. Their discussions may also touch on the Ukraine dossier, although media expectations in the west may be overestimated.
It may be pure coincidence that the meeting coincides with the 20th anniversary of the Iraq invasion. Yet it also highlights how extensively Russian and Chinese strategies have intertwined over the past two decades.
Today, increasingly, "orientation comes from Orient." Cooperative geostrategic leadership and sound alternative propositions to resolve global conflicts are being shaped in Beijing and Moscow – because the old centers of power can offer nothing new.
Twenty years after the US invasion of Iraq, a failed 'war on terror,' the proliferation of extremism, millions of dead and displaced in West Asia, and never-ending conflict, China and Russia have finally teamed up to systematically advance their view of the world, this time with more resolve and global clout.
As catastrophic as it was, the Iraq war ended the practice of direct US military invasions, ushering in a war-weary era that desperately sought other solutions. That global division of opinion that began in 2003 over Iraq is, 20 years later, being institutionalized by emerging multipolar powers that seek to counter forever wars.
