Shamieka Rhinehart

Template:TOCnestleft Shamieka Rhinehart is a Durham, North Carolina activist. She is a native of Rocky Mount, North Carolina. She is graduated of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she received a Bachelor of Arts in English and later received a juris doctorate from North Carolina Central University.

In 2005, she began her life as a public servant when she became a prosecutor with the Durham District Attorney's Office. Currently, she is the supervisor of district court in Durham County and has been for over the past two years. Shamieka lives her life by this saying: "Service is the rent we pay for living." Shamieka is the Extra Hands Coordinator Liaison for the Junior League of Durham and Orange counties. She serves on the Citizens Advisory Committee and also participated in the Partners for Youth as a mentor for young women. Currently, she is a executive member of the Durham Votes Coalition where she works tireless to register and educate voters on the new voter registration laws. [1]
