Standing for AD 27
In 2019 Norma Alcala stood from AD 7 for the California Cemocratic Party central Committee.
- Currently, I am the elected E-Board Representative to the DSCC from Assembly District 7, Sacramento and Yolo county. I have attended every CDP E-Board and CDP Convention for the last eight years. If I am elected, you can be sure that I will attend conventions and faithfully represent you.
- As past President of SEIU Local 768, I am also a Labor voter because I believe that labor is the basis of a strong and vibrant middle class. Cesar Chavez taught us that labor and civil rights are inextricably intertwined.
- As Chair of the Chicano Latino Caucus Voter Registration Committee, I am a civil rights voter. I registered over 11,000 high school students from 2016-2018. I regularly registered at the New Citizens Ceremony at the Memorial Auditorium when we could do so. In the last five years, I was the recipient of the Mentor of the Year Award from Young Dems and Sac State Dems, as well as recipient of the Outstanding Volunteer and Innovator Award from John Burton, past Chair of the CDP.
- I am the elected Vice Chair for Northern California for the Chicano Latino Caucus of the California Democratic Party, immediate Past President of the River City Democratic Club, immediate past Vice Chair of the Yolo County School Districts Association, and a member of the Yolo County Early Childhood Education Committee. I am President of LULAC (the Latino version of the NAACP) and President of the League of Women Voters of West Sacramento.
- I was a Delegate for Bernie Sanders to the 2016 Democratic National Convention and for President Obama in 2012. I humbly ask for your vote..[1]
