Last night we we were proud to raise over $2000 for the Bridge for Asylum Seekers Foundation at the Farewell to Gould’s Books ✊✊ Thank you to Natalie Gould, Mari and all at Gould’s for having us, and sharing your wonderful memories of Bob and Gould’s Books 📚

Gould’s is moving to 536 King Street in south Newtown, and books at the current shop will be 50% until closing on 26 August.

Congratulations to the newly elected executive for such a great start to their term 🙏

Left victories, Young Labor conference

Sssssshheeuruuttiioouio.PNG

Young Labor Left - NSW, September 23, 2018.

After years of campaigning, this weekend NSW Young Labor Conference adopted some HUGE Left policies, including:

1. Banning Gay Conversion Therapy 2. The Right to Strike 3. Secondary Boycotts 4. Denouncing the NT intervention as a racist and misguided policy, including the Young Labor Executive committing to consulting with Grandmothers Against Removals 5. Supporting Hunter Young Labor Association’s motion for affirmative action for YLAs 6. Ending the ban on blood donation by gay men 7. Criminal sanctions for wage theft 8. Industry wide bargaining 9. Free Public transport for the economically disadvantaged 10. Ending Capital Gains Tax discounts for wealthy investors

Zaccy GP proudly stood as the Left’s candidate for Young Labor President. Zac was the only candidate who supported a humane refugee policy, opposed the disasterous Adani mine and advocated for democracy in our Party.

Thanks to Ama Somaratna, Jesse Krause, Cian Galea, Shannen Potter, Jack McNally, Hayden Nichols, Phil Johnson, Georgina Goddard and Elle Lingard for making this a great conference for the Left.

"Change the Rules"

Young Labor Left - NSW August 19. 2018.

Young Labor Left was out in the federal seat of Banks today campaigning to #changetherules.

We’ll be fighting Tories shoulder to shoulder with our trade union comrades across NSW until we fix our broken economy.

At this stage almost a third of big businesses pay no tax and working people are suffering the consequences in the form of health, education and public service cuts. 🙅🏼‍♂️
