Ray Jones
Ray Jones is the New Communist Party of Britain printer who is also a member of the Central Committee.[1]
Active in the Brighton and Hove New Communist Party.
NCP award
The New Communist Party of Britain held its annual homage to Karl Marx on the anniversary of his death on Saturday 12th March – and honoured Ray Jones, head printer of the [New Worker] from its foundation in 1977 to 2015 – with a short gap in the 1980s.
And he still does the lay-out of the paper by remote control from his new home in North Wales. Ray was presented with a bust of Lenin.
Speakers at the social event included John Macleod from the Socialist Labour Party, Marie Lynam from the British Posadist group and Dermot Hudson, representing the UK Korean Friendship Association.[2]
NCP school
April 2017 Comrades looked at contemporary issues at the New Communist Party of Britain’s national weekend school at the Party Centre in London. Comrades from London, Southampton, Bristol, Llandudno and East Kilbride discussed the Juche idea, imperialism, and the role of bourgeois historians in three sessions chaired by Alex Kempshall and opened by Andy Brooks, Dermot Hudson and Ray Jones.
During the final day round-up session everyone said that there was a need for more seminars at a local and national level to help build the Party and the readership of the New Worker, our flagship paper.
It naturally ended with a collection, led by Daphne Liddle, for the New Worker fighting fund, which raised £67.50 for our communist weekly.[3]
North Korea delegation
A New Communist Party of Britain Study Tour of the Democratic Peoples’ Republic of Korea, took place July 2001. The delegation was headed by National Chair Alex Kempshall and included Central Committee members Ray Jones and Daphne Liddle, and included Yvonne Wilkin.[4] Ray Jones was active in the Cuba Solidarity Campaign.
The Worker
Ray Jones was a contributor to the New Communist Party of Britain's New Worker in the late 1990s.
