AYL 2023: the best weekend with the best people ✨

It's been a privilege to meet so many people from all over Australia who share similar values. Our fight for progressive policy won't end at AYL!

I'm so proud of everyone from Young Labor Left - NSW. Our group fought for some amazing, progressive motions which recieved bipartisan support. We also had some motions which didn't get up, but we fought hard for them regardless.

We all did everyone in NSW Left proud. 🌹🌹

Also a shoutout to Illawarra Young Labor Left 🌹 Together with our comrades in Illawarra Young Labor Association, the Illawarra had the largest contingent in the country. Up the regions!

On the weekend, we succesfully moved the Labor Environment Action Network's motion at AYL Conference to, in summary:

Create a climate strategy for the land sector
End land clearing before the next election
Cut methane emissions from agriculture by 50% by 2030

Thank you to all our comrades in Australian Young Labor Left and in particular to our comrades in Young Labor Left SA who championed LEAN's campaign with us. We'll be working with all our comrades across Australia (and across factions) to further youth climate activism in our party in the lead up to ALP National Conference.
