Truman National Security Project

The Truman National Security Project is an organization that seeks to recruit, train and elect progressives who will impact on National Security legislation in accordance with the organization's goals.

Thomas J. Mancinelli,^[1] Michelle Strucke,^[2] Frank Kendall,^[3] Jesse Salazar^[4] and Alex Wagner^[5] are employees at the U.S. Department of Defense from the Truman National Security Project as of July 1, 2022.

About

The Truman National Security Project is a national security leadership institute that recruits, trains, and positions "a new generation of progressives across America to lead on national security."^[6]

They state on their website:^[6]

"Today you will find leaders we have trained running for office across the country, advising presidential and Congressional campaigns, drafting legislation in the halls of Congress, assuming leadership posts in the military, playing key roles in local and national government, and working on the front lines of America's homeland security."

In 2008 the Project recieved $268,056 in contributions, gifts and grants.^[7]

Mission

The project's stated mission is:^[6]

"To provide the skills, knowledge, and network to create an influential force of leaders across the country who advance strong progressive national security policy."

Educational Institute

The Truman National Security Project Educational Institute is the sister 501c3 organization of the Project.^[8]

In 2008 the Educational Institute received $405,787 in contributions, gifts and grants.^[9]
