The Committees of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism held its every third-year national convention online Saturday, June 1 and Sunday June 2, 2024.

At mid-morning Jerry Harris gave the keynote address that highlighted the current political situation within the global context.

Next were several workshops on CCDS committees that included Elections (Carl Davidson), Class Race and Gender (Erica Carter and Paul Krehbiel), and Peace & Solidarity: International Relations, part 1 (Harry Targ, Duncan McFarland, Peter Deutsch).

After lunch, workshops resumed, with sessions on Labor (Paul Krehbiel and Sandy Eaton), the Environment and Climate (David Schwartzman), the Socialist Education Project (Jay D. Jurie), and Peace & Solidarity Part 2: Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (Stephen David, Rod Such & Harry Targ).[1]

CCDS Peace and Solidarity Committee

Stephen David and Harry Targ submitted the following written proposal. That the CCDS Peace and Solidarity Committee establish a Task Force on “International Relations: The New Reality.” [2]

CCDS Midwest meeting

Twenty members and friends of the Committees of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism (CCDS) spent April 25 2009, in West Lafayette, Indiana, discussing how to build an effective progressive majority for the Obama years at its semi-annual Midwest regional meeting.

As to organizing, Stephen David, Lafayette, urged activists to build off of the grassroots mobilizations of the Obama campaign and to use those that remain active to challenge “bureaucratic” top-down politics with “grassroots” bottom up mobilizations..[3]
