Midwest Social Forum

The Midwest Social Forum (MWSF) is an annual gathering of grassroots organizations, community activists, workers, educators, students, artists, and others committed to developing effective strategies for progressive social, economic, and political change that was founded in 1983.

The Radical Philosophy Association helped launch Midwest Radical Scholars & Activists Conference in Chicago on the theme "Challenging the New World Order," 1200 participants in 120 sessions on October 19 through 21, 1990 (23 organized by the RPA).

Midwest Radical Scholars and Activists Conference

The MWSF was founded as the "Midwest Radical Scholars and Activists Conference" in 1983 by the Havens Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

RadFest

The Midwest Radical Scholars and Activists Conference was later renamed "RadFest" in the late 1990s. In 2003, the title Midwest Social Forum was added.

Forum information

The RadFest 2002 forum was held May 31-June 2 at Aurora University's George Williams Lake Geneva Campus.

The RadFest 2003 - Midwest Social Forum was held May 30-June 1 at Aurora University's George Williams Lake Geneva Campus.

The 2004 forum was held June 4-6 and its program can be accessed here.

The 2005 forum was held June 4-6 and its program can be accessed here. It was co-sponsored by Liberty Tree Foundation and The Progressive.

The 2006 forum was held July 6-9.

The 2007 forum was held June 27-July 1.

The 2008 forum was held March 28-30.
