Pam Solo
Pam Solo is the founder and President of the Civil Society Institute, founding the organization in 1992.
In the 1970s, Solo by co-founded and co-directed the Rocky Flats campaign and the national Nuclear Weapons Facilities Task Force, which aimed "to expose the local hazards of weapon production facilities." Solo was one of the founders and leaders of the Nuclear Weapon Freeze Campaign, representing the Freeze movement internationally and helping to found Freeze Voter. In the 1980s Solo was the campaign director for Congresswoman Pat Schroeder and managed her Presidential exploratory campaign. Solo worked for the Armed Services Committee on burden sharing. Solo has received the MacArthur Foundation Fellowship.
She wrote From Protest to Policy: Beyond the Freeze to Common Security and co-authored The Promise and Politics of Stem Cell Research.[1]
