At last night’s meeting, Whatcom DSA voted to endorse Chanan Suarez for Bellingham City Council. Chanan has been organizing with our chapter for almost two years, and has been in a leadership position for the past year. As a chapter, we recruited Chanan for this city council race. Over the past two years, Chanan has demonstrated that he’s ready to be a voice for Bellingham’s working class that we deserve. Whatcom DSA will be building Chanan’s entire campaign from the bottom up. We’re proud to run on an unapologetic socialist platform that prioritizes social housing, labor, and Green New Deal initiatives. Bellingham deserves bold leadership. We deserve a voice for the renters, the workers, and the environment. If you’d like to join us, please come to our next Electoral Committee meeting this Tuesday, April 16th from 7-9 pm upstairs in the downtown co-op. It’s time to build power!
