People for the American Way

People for the American Way (PFAW) is a progressive organization founded in 1981 by Norman Lear, the late Congresswoman Barbara Jordan and a group of activists.

Svante Myrick is the President of People For the American Way.

The organization's foundation arm is the People for the American Way Foundation and its youth arm is the Young People For.[1] The YEO Network is an arm of the People for the American Way organizing "progressive elected officials" founded by former Tallahassee Mayor and failed Florida gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum.

Michael B. Keegan is the previous President.
