Standing for AD 3
In 2019 Milton Whaley stood from AD 3 for the California Democratic Party Central Committee.
I am a certified organic farmer in Pleasant Grove and the former president of the Wellstone Progressive Democrats of Sacramento (2017). I believe Assembly District 3 is underserved and deserves a progressive Democrat to be in office. AD3 is a poor district which should be doing far more for its residents in terms of health outreach, housing, education funding, voter registrations and integration, to name a few. I believe water is a huge issue for our rural residents and communities and not just for big rice farms and walnut orchards. Water is a local resource that we must protect for our futures, whether it be maintaining our current delivery infrastructure, banning unregulated injection of toxic fracking liquids into our ground, going to court to protect our rights from would-be interlopers or fighting to get new rights to rural residents and communities before they are forced off the land by lack of water.
I believe Sutter County and probably Butte County could easily become blue with a little more outreach to register new voters and encourage and help facilitate voting.
I am anti-fracking and believe human-caused climate change is an urgent threat to all humanity. I believe health care is a human right.
I believe strongly in fair trade but believe free trade is a scam put over on hard-working Americans by shareholder-first corporations and a state department totally out of touch with the people it once served. There is no question in my mind that the Green New Deal could be to this century what FDR’s New Deal was to the last century or even better.[1]
