Maurice BP Weeks

Maurice BP Weeks sits on the boards of several organizations, including Black Organizing for Leadership and Dignity, National Institute for Money in Politics, and the National Black Workers Center. He worked with the Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment and the Center for Popular Democracy, Investors Advocates for Social Justice, 482Forward and the Ruckus Society.

A native of Newark, NJ, Maurice now lives in Detroit, Michigan and he’s never going to leave. He graduated from Swarthmore University.[1]

Maurice is the co-founder and former Co-Executive Director of The Action Center on Race and the Economy.

"A letter from the movement to the movement'

In September 2019 Maurice BP Weeks Co-Executive Director, Action Center on Race & the Economy was one of 100 black leaders, many affiliated with Liberation Road who signed A letter from the movement to the movement defending Maurice Mitchell and Nelini Stamp of the Working Families Party for endorsing Elizabeth Warren instead of Bernie Sanders for the Democratic Party presidential nomination.
