SWP support
In 2015 the Socialist Workers Party supported left candidates Kiri Tunks from east London and Louise Regan from Nottinghamshire for senior and junior vice presidents in the NUT teachers’ union.
Kiri won the highest number of branch nominations in the ballot, followed by Louise.
Sara Tomlinson, an NUT member in south London, explained why teachers should back them. “We want to win the broadest vote on the left,” she said. “The strong support for Kiri and Louise means we have a chance of getting two left vice presidents elected for the first time in years.[1]
