2023 PDSA Convention Delegate Nomination List

Keith Guthrie is a 2023 Portland Democratic Socialists of America delegate nominee for the biennial DSA national convention to be held in Chicago, Illinois August 4-6, 2023.

"As a member of Portland DSA since 2017 I have watched and participated in its development into one of the more active and militant chapters in the national organization. This is an orientation I hope to continue supporting as a delegate at the 2023 National Convention. My involvement in the chapter has ranged from having served on the steering committee for two terms, both as at-large in 2018 and as co-chair of internal organizing in 2019, to rebooting the political education working group and co-bottom lining the chapter’s Summer Day School in 2018 (the largest political education event the chapter has organized), to being elected as a chapter delegate at the last two conventions in 2019 and 2021. I support efforts at the national level to develop a political platform and structural reforms that will move DSA towards being the foundation of a truly mass working class institution, as well as forming formal relationships with socialist organizations and movements in other countries to strengthen our position in the struggle against capitalist oppression globally. I would be honored to once again be given the opportunity to represent the chapter as a convention delegate and to advocate for continuing DSA’s trajectory towards being a more effectively structured, strategically focused and politically militant organization capable of meaningful participation in the building of a world beyond capitalism and the numerous systems of oppression it perpetuates and supports.
