John Emery is a founding member and the serving co-chair of the Memphis Democratic Socialists of America, and in addition to the DSA he has also worked with, alongside, or for The Poor People's Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival, Indivisible Memphis, Memphis For All, MCIL (Memphis Center for Independent Living), ASAN (Autism Self-Advocacy Network), and others dedicated to making Memphis and the world a better place. Tennessee DSA closed Facebook group

Tennessee Democratic Socialists of America closed Facebook group, accessed May 22, 2018.[2][3]

This group is for members and activists of DSA (Democratic Socialists of America) in Tennessee, and anyone interested in joining DSA and Democratic Socialism[4]

Memphis Solidarity Brigade

The Memphis district of Freedom Road brought together cadre from around the nation to support a local organizing effort, Memphis For All, to apply our line and strategy to local elections. The Path to Power Memphis for all Solidarity Brigade took place in mid-July 2018 to culminate with an early voting canvassing effort.
