Abner Mikva is a far-left former Congressman from Chicago and is married to Zoe Mikva. He has long lent his support to Communist Party USA causes. In January 1969, the CPUSA-linked Chicago radical newspaper, Hyde Park-Kenwood Voices, listed Mikva as one of those who had helped produce its first 16 monthly issues. In April 1975 Mikva spoke alongside Frank Rosen and Richard Criley at the "National conference for a drastic cutback in military spending" organized by the CPUSA-controlled Chicago Peace Council in Chicago. In October 2006 he was a member of the Honoring Committee for a "Celebration of the The Dynamic Life" of CPUSA, New American Movement and Democratic Socialists of America leader, Frank Wilkinson". In April 1983, Congressman Mikva and his wife attended the 20th anniversary celebration for the Institute for Policy Studies. From 1986 - 1987 Elena Kagan worked as a Judicial Clerk for Mikva in the U.S. Court of Appeals. Kagan was appointed by Obama in May 2010 and is now in place as the 112th Supreme Court Justice. In May 2002, He and his wife sent the message "Hooray for Progressives" to the Chicago Democratic Socialists of America 44th Annual Eugene V. Debs - Norman Thomas - Michael Harrington Dinner.
