January 2018, Jamala Rogers was named executive director of the Organization for Black Struggle. She is one of the founders of the organization and served as its long-time chairperson. The OBS Board of Directors accepted the membership’s recommendation after a lengthy search by the group’s transition team, headed by Ashli Bolden.

Support for Obama

Ashli Bolden, civic engagement director for the Missouri Progressive Vote Coalition told the Peoples Weekly World, "I think the Obama administration is trying to do the right thing. Obama wants to regulate the big financial institutions. He wants change. We have to help him create that change."

Missouri Progressive Vote

In 2010 Ashli Bolden was an organizer for the Missouri Progressive Vote Coalition.

Ashli Bolden has been with ProVote for over two years. In that time she supervised a voter registration staff to register 26,526 underrepresented voters in Missouri. She was able to get many schools and churches involved with the 2008 election cycle, and "enjoys talking about voting rights in order to help people understand the voting process. She also enjoys phone banking and door knocking to get out the vote on Election Day. Ashli looks forward to winning health care for all, and is working on early voting and same day registration in Missouri."
