Template:TOCnestleft The Progressive Legislators Group (PLG), the House caucus of liberal Democrats is the Statehouse equivalent of the Congressional Progressive Caucus.[1][2]

Events

Meeting with Barney Frank

On May 6, 1996, Barney Frank, U.S. Representative for Massachusetts, met with the Progressive Legislators Group in an attempt to drum up support with like-minded lawmakers for the city's proposed casino. However the PLG remained oppose to the project.[2]

March 2003 Forum

On March 11, 2003, the Progressive Legislators Group co-sponsored a forum on the fiscal realities of the state budget with Massachusetts House Speaker, Thomas Finneran. Noah Berger, Massachusetts Center for Budget & Policy and Michael Widmer, Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation were the featured speakers at the forum.[4]
