Prairie Fire Organizing Committee

It opposes "oppression in all its forms including racism, sexism, homophobia, classism and imperialism." It demands "liberation and justice for all peoples. We recognize that we live in a capitalist system that favors a select few and oppresses the majority."[1]
Hard Times Conference
The Hard Times Conference was organized by the Prairie Fire Organizing Committee, with Weather Underground Organization (WUO) support and leadership, at the University of Illinois Circle Campus in Chicago, from January 30 to February 1, 1976.
The slogan for the conference was “Hard Times are Fighting Times.”
Laura Whitehorn was so nauseated by the politics of the conference, she became physically ill. “I hated it more than anything else I’ve ever done, she told Nicole Kief in an interview on October 20, 2002.[2]
