Moira Whelan
Moira Whelan is an entrepreneur and partner at BlueDot Strategies. She is the former Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Digital Strategy with more than 15 years of experience in national security communications. She has served in senior communications roles at the State Department, US Agency for International Development, the Department of Homeland Security and in the House of Representatives. She has also helped advance the policy conversation as a founding staff member of the National Security Network and at Harvard’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs and at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. She is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a member of the Washington Board of the Digital Diplomacy Coalition.[1]
JournoList
Moira Whelan, of the National Security Network, was an identified member of JournoList - an email group of approximately 400 "progressive" and socialist journalists, academics and "new media" activists.
JournoList members reportedly coordinated their messages in favor of Barack Obama and the Democrats, and against Sarah Palin and the Republican Party. JournoList was founded in 2007 and was closed down in early 2010.[2]
