NBC Latino Controversy
On September 16, 2022, Max Lefeld of Casa Venezuela Dallas was quoted in a story about the Florida Governor shipping illegal aliens to Martha's Vineyard.[4] "It’s like me taking my trash out and just driving to different areas where I live and just throwing my trash there," said Max Lefeld. A Tweet by NBC Latino referencing the quote was later deleted.[5]
Excerpt:
- "In Texas, Lefeld said his foundation's Facebook page has comments from people saying they won’t help Venezuelans from the Chavista party — referring to the late Venezuelan socialist president, Hugo Chavez — or that the latest arrivals were part of the current leftist government of President Nicolas Maduro.
- "My line of criticism to my fellow countrymen here is that it’s people that made it, just like them, but they are walking and they don’t have luggage and we flew. People kind of forget how they came here."
Travels to Venezuela
Max Lefeld traveled to Caracas, Venezuela in May, 2022. While he was there, he was featured on "radio stations and shows" to discuss "creativity and advertising:"[6]
- "Thanks to all the radio stations and shows in Caracas, Venezuela that invited our creative director Max Lefeld to talk about creativity and advertising. Max got the opportunity to share with his fellow Venezuelan colleagues his learnings and experiences abroad. Co.Jones representing!"
