Education

Marc Caplan earned a Juris Doctor degree from Columbia University in 1972.[1]

Activism

Caplan was the founding Director of LEAP (Legislative founder Electoral Action Program) from 1980-1986 and was the Executive Director of the Connecticut Citizen Action Group from 1978-1980.

LEAP, was a statewide voter engagement coalition in Connecticut; created and directed a project sponsored by Northeast Action and the United Auto Workers to build similar voter engagement coalitions in four other New England states; and consulted with progressive leaders in more than a half dozen other states around the country to assist the founding or strengthening of statewide coalitions. He was the Director of DemocracyWorks, the Blueprint Project Program Officer of Proteus Fund, Founder or Advisor Campaign for America's Future.

Caplan directed Northeast Action from 1992 to 1999 and he served as the Executive Director of Connecticut Citizen Action Group from 1974 to 1980. [2]

Campaign for America's Future

In 1996 Marc Caplan, Northeast Action was one of the original 130 founders of Campaign for America's Future.[3]

Proteus fund

Marc Caplan began working for the Proteus Fund as a consultant in September 2000 and has been on staff since 2004. He brings "decades of knowledge and experience to bear on his work to implement a comprehensive strategy for building a broad base of support for reform around the problem of corporate and special interest power and influence in our political system".[4]
