" Marxism - class and class consciousness" was convened by the East of England District of the Communist Party of Britain, 16-20 October 2023.

Speakers were David Horsley (historian), Roger McKenzie (Morning Star), Judith Rodenas, Leo Impett, Lucy Coleman, Darren Turner and Brent Cutler.

Comrades Robert Griffiths, Irene Green and Judith Rodenas on behalf of the Communist Party of Britain and Young Communist League of Britain attended a leadership conference for parties from America, Britain and Oceania. Delegates visited the provinces of Guangdong, Guizhou and Beijing. They met with local communities and visited Communist Party of China schools.

Red Festival, 2023

Saturday May 27, 2023 Cambridge Morning Star Readers and Supporters Group will host a people’s festival and the Morning Star, the people’s voice, gets top billing.

The festival is dedicated to the women of Iran and includes a solidarity focus. MC Leo Impett, a local university lecturer and specialist in AI, will introduce speakers Aza Zepehr, representative of the Democratic Women’s Organisations of Iran, and later, Steve Marsling of the London Recruits.

The afternoon kicks off with four sessions on key themes including: “Building unions, protecting employment rights,” “Housing for all,” “The Charter for Women” and “Transport for the people.”

These will be in the form of panel discussions. The union session will feature Sarah Woolley, general secretary of bakers’ and food workers’ union BFAWU, and local postal strike leader Darren Turner.

The housing session is presented by local Acorn activists Lewis Jordan and Renato Frisoni. The women’s charter session will hear from Judith Cazorla of the London Young Communist League and Lorraine Douglas of the steering committee of The People's Assembly.

TUESDAY - workers and immigrant’s rights in Britain, organised by the British branch of the Communist Party of Spain. All welcome. 💻 WORK RIGHTS AND IMMIGRATION IN THE UNITED KINGDOM

From the hand of people with great organizational experience, this (bilingual) panel discussion wants to talk about the labour rights of female workers who reside in the UK. We will also talk about the need to organize politically in the country of destination. For this, we will have:

  • Phil Katz, graphic designer, history author and head of communications for the Communist Party @CPBritain. Phil will speak about the history of the British labour movement.
  • Dominic MacAskill (@DomMacAskill). Trade union organizer and member of the Communist Party in its Wales section.
  • Judith Cazorla-Rodenas: Former member of the UJCE and local election candidate for the @cpbritain
  • Rosa Luque Garcia: Head of Worker s' Movement at PCE Exterior.

Judith Cazorla-Rodenas is a leading member of the Communist Party of Britain. In the 2021 London Assembly elections the Communist Party of Britain were able to secure 8787 votes across London. Over recent weeks Communists in London have been heavily active with campaigning for the Communist vote in London canvassing votes in North, East, South and West London. Your candidates for London are Hannah Sawtell, Robin Talbot, Anita Halpin, Akira Allman, Lucian Branescu-Mihalia, Phil Brand, Judith Cazorla-Rodenas, Stewart McGill and Lorraine Douglas.[2]
