Help:Summary box for editing

An edit summary is a brief note that an editor leaves in the small text box below the main editing box, to explain what changes have been made to the article. This will appear in "recent changes" and user watchlists. Additionally, it will appear in the article history]] above any prior versions of the article. These summaries should be concise and clear in order for other editors to decide whether they need to explore the change.

Accurate summaries help people decide whether it is worthwhile for them to check a change
