Elizabeth McAlister is an activist nun who was excommunicated from the Catholic Church after she married a former priest, Philip Berrigan. She has been arrested on numerous occasions, most recently, for her role in vandalizing a nuclear submarine base in 2018. Her daughter is Frida Berrigan.

Kings Bay Plowshares

"McAlister and the other six members of the Kings Bay Plowshares 7 illegally entered the Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay on April 4, 2018. They chose that date to correspond with the 50th anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., fellow member Patrick O’Neill explained in an op-ed in the Baltimore Sun."[1]

In 2008 Elizabeth McAlister of Jonah House Community, Baltimore, MD signed an online petition “A Open Letter to Barack Obama on Iran”.[3]
