An open letter prioritizing Black Lives Matter protests originated at the University of Washington Division of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. The letter made such claims as "COVID-19 among Black patients is yet another lethal manifestation of white supremacy" and was signed by over 1200 individuals.[2]

The letter,[3] titled "Open letter advocating for an anti-racist public health response to demonstrations against systemic injustice occurring during the COVID-19 pandemic" was signed by Doctors for America.

"This Is Our Shot" Ally

Doctors for America is listed as an "Ally" in the This Is Our Shot initiative led by the California Medical Association (CMA) to convince people to take the coronavirus vaccine in response to the 2020 coronavirus pandemic.[4]

Max Baucus and Center for American Progress

From Politico on May 4 2009:[5]

Sen. Max Baucus and the Center for American Progress Action Fund are announcing a new group on a conference call later this morning: Doctors for America, which is a reincarnation of Doctors for Obama, an arm of the Obama campaign that boasted more than 10,000 members.
The question of patients' relationships with their doctors is always a flashpoint in debating changes to the health care system, so doctors are often particularly credible messengers.
Today they'll "release new reports detailing the depth and breadth of America's health care crisis and announce a new effort to amplify physicians' voices in support of health care reform," according to the advisory.

Petition

On March 24, 2020, Doctors for America posted a petition urging the Governor to "issue a stay-at-home order immediately to fight the Covid-19 pandemic."[6]

The text:

Dear Governor DeSantis and Florida’s Elected Leaders:
As doctors and other health care professionals across Florida, we call upon you to issue a stay-at-home order immediately to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.
Cases are rising rapidly across Florida. We are at a critical point in our state’s ability to avoid the catastrophic situation unfolding in New York City and Italy.
We know how big a decision this is. We take care of patients who are small business owners, independent contractors, working in an already devastated tourism industry. Many of us are small business owners ourselves.
But the stakes are too high for both our health and our economy to delay. We must act now to safeguard both. In fact, the faster we enact stay-at-home across Florida, the faster we can get this virus under control and life can get back to normal.
Stay-at-home is a temporary order that will bring down the number of people who get sick and buy us the time we need to go on offense against coronavirus: ramp up testing of all suspected cases, isolate and trace contacts of infected individuals, arm our frontline medical workers with masks and gowns, prepare for hospital surge capacity as Floridians fall ill.
We stand ready to fight coronavirus and fight for Florida. Please stand with us, health care professionals, and issue a stay-at-home order now. The time for patients over politics is now!
Signed,
