Robert W. Edgar
Robert W. (Bob) Edgar (born 29 May, 1943) currently serves as the President and CEO of Common Cause, a partisan organization dedicated to advancing a liberal agenda.[1]
National Council of Churches
On 1 January, 2000, Bob Edgar became the General Secretary of the National Council of Churches[2] which is affiliated with the World Council of Churches.[3]
Congress
Bob Edgar served as a Member of the United States House of Representatives, representing the 7th District of Pennsylvania from 1975 to 1987.
Tour to Nicaragua
In January 1981, three Congressional Democrats, Gerry Studds of Massachusetts, Bob Edgar of Pennsylvania, and Barbara Mikulski of Maryland, toured Nicaragua, and met with Sandinista leaders.
A follow up report by Studds claimed that the Sandinista's main "accomplishment has been to create within Nicaragua a universal commitment to social equity, and a concern for the country's multitude of poor, ill clothed, ill fed and sick people. There is a fully shared sense that the revolution is necessary and just."[4]
Socialist support
Supported by Council for a Livable World
The Council for a Livable World, founded in 1962 by long-time socialist activist and alleged Soviet agent, Leo Szilard, is a non-profit advocacy organization that seeks to "reduce the danger of nuclear weapons and increase national security", primarily through supporting progressive, congressional candidates who support their policies. The Council supported Robert W. Edgar in his successful House of Representatives run as candidate for Pennsylvania.[5]
Drinan Award
The Father Robert F. Drinan National Peace and Human Rights Award was established in 2006. The award is annually presented by the Center for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation and Council for a Livable World to individuals who exemplify the late Father Drinan's commitment |to peace and human justice".
The award broadly focuses on U.S. politics, political science, physical science, biology, peace studies, and peace and human rights activism.

National Jobs For All Coalition
In 2010, Robert W. Edgar was listed as serving on the advisory board of the Democratic Socialists of America dominated National Jobs For All Coalition.[7]
Take Back the American Dream Conference 2011
Robert W. Edgar was one of the 158 speakers who addressed the Take Back the American Dream Conference 2011 . The Conference was hosted by the Institute for Policy Studies, and Democratic Socialists of America dominated Campaign for America's Future, [8]
National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy
Edgar serves on the board of directors for the National Committee for Responsible Philanthropy[9] which was co-founded by Margery Tabankin, Pablo Eisenberg, Charles Halperin, and others.[10]
