American League for Peace and Democracy

The American League for Peace and Democracy was formed in 1935 in light of Soviet fear of the growing threat of Nazism". The Communist International demanded a united front of the "peace-loving nations" against the "Fascist aggressors". The front organization designed to propogate this message was named the American League for Peace and Democracy.[1]
