As at April 11, 1983, Alan Saks served on the Board of Directors for the Illinois branch of the American Civil Liberties Union.[2]

Chicago Committee to Defend the Bill of Rights

In 1992 Alan Saks and Esther Saks were members of the Chicago Committee to Defend the Bill of Rights, a long time front for the Communist Party USA, then dominated by members of the newly formed Committees of Correspondence.[3]

Business and Professional People for the Public Interest

In 2010, Alan Saks was named as a past President of the Chicago based Business and Professional People for the Public Interest.[4]
