Dakotah Lilly is a Pennsylvania based co-founder and leader of the Marxist-Leninist Students and Youth for a New America.
His writings have been featured on CounterPunch, Telesur, Cindy Sheehan’s Soapbox, and elsewhere. He is especially interested in "Latin American politics and international implementations of socialism."
Dakotah Lilly was formerly active in the Young Democratic Socialists of America, but went on to form Students and Youth for a New America. The group, which includes several former members of the Stalinist Workers World Party such as Nick Maniace and Caleb Maupin, and supports the Russian invasion of parts of the Ukraine, North Korea, Iran, Syria, "Palestine," Cuba and the Maduro regime in Venezuela.
In October 2017, Caleb Maupin and Dakotah Lilly attended the World Federation of Democratic Youth festival in Sochi, Russia, which brought 30,000 young communists from around the globe to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Bolshevik revolution in Russia. President Vladimir Putin keynoted the event.
Dakotah Lilly appeared on "Tucker Carlson Tonight" on May 15, 2017, to voice his support for the regime of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.
In March 2018, Dakotah Lilly was in Caracas, where he met Linda Sobeh Ali, the Palestinian ambassador to Venezuela.
