Evan Canter

Evan Canter is the grandson of Harry Canter, son of David Canter, and sibling of Marc Canter and Pincus, of Boca Raton.

Evan Canter was born in 1958 at Michael Reese Hospital. He went to public school, to Shoesmith Elementary and then to Wirth Middle School, which is now the Miriam G. Canter Middle School, named after his mother.

I’ve been co-principal of Canter a few times. My one claim to fame is that Michelle Obama was my co-principal once after Barack Obama was elected to the United States Senate.

David Canter encouraged Evan to study Russian at the University of Chicago High School.
