Evan Canter
Template:TOCnestleft Evan Canter is the grandson of Harry Canter, son of David Canter, and sibling of Marc Canter and Anna Pincus, of Boca Raton.
He is Lead Senior Consultant, Olenick & Associates at Olenick & Associates in Chicago, and former VP, Project Manager at JPMorgan, Treasury Services, Senior Project Manager, Enterprise Program Management Office at Deloitte and Touche Tax Technologies/CORPTax.[1]
Education
He was educated at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, Yeshiva University, and St. John's College (MD).[2]
Background
Evan Canter was born in 1958 at Michael Reese Hospital. He went to public school, to Shoesmith Elementary and then to Wirth Middle School, which is now the Miriam G. Canter Middle School, named after his mother.
- I’ve been co-principal of Canter a few times. My one claim to fame is that Michelle Obama was my co-principal once after Barack Obama was elected to the United States Senate.
David Canter encouraged Evan to study Russian at the University of Chicago High School.
Evan Canter went to what was called the South Side School of Jewish Studies. It was a secular Sunday school, started at the YMCA on 71st Street. It was cultural— songs, bible stories, dancing, very involved in Zionism. Marc, Anna, and Evan each graduated from the South Side School, in the ninth grade.[3]
Working for Washington
Evan Canter worked for Harold Washington in Washington D.C. when he was still a Congressman and got a job as a lawyer prosecuting crooked cops.
