Center for Deliberative Democracy

Center for Deliberative Democracy (CDD) is housed in the Department of Communication at Stanford University. Its mission is to research about democracy and public opinion obtained through Deliberative Polling. Through Deliberative Polling, developed by Professor James Fishkin, the CDD uses technique that combines consideration in small group discussions (grouped through scientific random sampling) to provide public consultation for public policy and for electoral issues. They have conducted polls in countries such as Great Britain, Australia, Denmark, and in the United States.[1]
