Standing for AD 16

In 2019 Thomas Tellner stood from AD 16 for the California Democratic Party Central Committee.

Having been an Assembly District 16 Delegate for the past two years, I wish to be re-elected for another to years to continue working toward the goals we began working toward in 2017 – and have already made so much progress toward achieving since then! As an ADEM and now former Vice-Chair of the Progressive Caucus, I’ve helped us come a long way toward reconnecting the Democratic Party with its roots – the people![1]

Progressive Caucus

Thomas Tellner, was in 2017, Vice Chair, Northern Region California Democratic Party Progressive Caucus.

Thomas Tellner began his public service in politics in Colorado back in the ‘80s. In the ‘90s he spent 7 years in the U.S. Army, stationed in the U.S. and Europe. More recently, he has worked in Finance for the healthcare industry – most recently for Planned Parenthood of California. During that time, he advocated continuously for universal healthcare/Single Payer. With his Finance and Economics background, he is passionate about similar issues such as establishing a California state bank, a universal basic income and free high education. Aside from these, he supports many other Progressive issues such as strengthening unions, LGBTQ rights, gender and racial equality because for him these are not just about fairness, they are about sustainability. He believes that our state and country cannot continue indefinitely based on an economic system that favors only the few. Thomas also serves as a California Party Delegate for AD16.[2]
