New American Movement

Between 1980 and 1981 Eunice Lipton, New York and Steve Cagan, Ohio were chairs of the Culture Commission of the New American Movement.[2]

New American Movement 10th Convention

In 1981 Steve Cagan, Co-Chair, Culture Commission and Stu Yarfitz, Buffalo NAM led a workshop entitled Producing Outreach Newsletters at the 10th Convention of the New American Movement. The convention was held in a union headquarters in Chicago and ran from July 29 - August 2, 1981.

Cagan spoke alongside Kristin Lems, NAM MAL and Ralph Fasanella in a semi-plenary entitled Culture and Politics.

Cagan also led a workshop entitled Cultural Commission alongside Eunice Lipton.[3]

Socialist Scholars Conference

Steve Cagan, Beth Cagan, Mabel Reyes of Segundo M, Julio Cesar Alfaro of INSIDE San Salvador and Leigh Binford were speakers on the El Salvador in the Post-War Period: Elements of the Emerging Socio-Economic Model panel sponsored by Voices of the Border at the Tenth Annual Socialist Scholars Conference. The conference was held April 24-26, 1992 at the Borough of Manhattan Community College, New York City.[6]

In 1996 Steve Cagan and Beth Cagan were both "former" Democratic Socialists of America members.[7]
