Sophie Lasoff
Template:TOCnestleft Sophie Lasoff assists research and curriculum development at the Ayni Institute, the organization that originally incubated the Momentum Training. At Ayni, she spends most of her time nerding out over movement theory and analyzing how we build better, more effective movements. She has spent the the last year helping to develop a new, advanced training on "social movement ecology.” In her free time, she sits on the national strategy team and sings lots of songs with IfNotNow, a mass movement of young Jews against the occupation. She is also a yoga teacher and always exploring the integration of spirituality and justice. Her organizing journey began as a student in the fossil fuel divestment movement, where she first tried (and mostly failed) to experiment with Momentum concepts. She is ever grateful for the ways in which the Momentum community has shaped her thinking, feeling, organizing, and friendships. [1]
