I’ve devoted most of my adult life to politics and political action. I’ve campaigned for causes and candidates I thought intrinsic to democratic and working class values since the age I could choose where and when and how to contribute my time and effort. Working in government, I’m no stranger to the levers and pulleys of the political world, and through my own studies and work in activism am versed in socialist theory and agitation. When I have a free moment, though, I enjoy toiling at becoming a published writer.

As a recent inductee to DSA, I have little experience working with or within DSA itself. I joined as a result of the groundswell the organization experienced following Trump’s win in 2016, having become inactive within the Democratic Party after years of organizing and campaign work. I organized for both of Barack Obama’s presidential bids, the midterm elections between them, and campaigns to combat efforts to strip unions in Ohio of their bargaining rights. Since joining DSA officially, I’ve worked closely with the nearest chapter in Portage County, Ohio, on their campaigns and have received guidance on how to form an official chapter in the neighboring Warren-Youngstown region.
