In 1992, Mike Smith, SEIU Bay Area, endorsed the Committees of Correspondence national conference Conference on Perspectives for Democracy and Socialism in the 90s held at Berkeley California July 17-19.[1]
Standing for AD 1
In 2019 Mike Smith stood from AD 1 for the California Democratic Party Central Committee.
For the last several years, much of my Party volunteer effort has been focused on the Rural Caucus. I worked with others to produce a Rural Plank for the Party Platform and have served as Caucus Chair for the Northern Region. Currently I am facilitating a Water Policy Discussion Group with the intent of bringing informed views to assist the Party in this vital area.
Even though a resident of Nevada County, I understand the importance of the larger counties – specifically Butte and Shasta – in electing effective representation. I intend to continue work with the CD1 Alliance to assist in electing Democrats..[2]
