Michael McDowell
Template:TOCnestleft Michael McDowell was born and raised in Minneapolis, MN and was on the planning team for POC Momentum as Lead Recruitment and Fundraising Coordinator. They started organizing at 19 years old, organizing around transit and economic development on the Northside of Minneapolis. In 2014 they began organizing with Black Lives Matter Minneapolis and are currently still organizing with the chapter. Additionally, they are a writer, actor, spoken word artist, and musician who uses their art and talents strategically to fuel the movement for black lives. As a Black, Queer man, Michael is in this fight because he knows no one is coming to save us, and it’s going to take Black people fighting for themselves, each other, and to get free.[1]
