Meta Mendel-Reyes

Meta Mendel-Reyes is a professor of Peace and Social Justice Studies at Berea College in Berea, Kentucky. After graduating from college in her home state of California, she spent fifteen years as a labor organizer, including four years with migrant farm workers. Meta is the author of Reclaiming Democracy: The Sixties in Politics and Memory (New York: Routledge, 1995). She has lived in Kentucky since 2000.



John Witeck and Meta Mendel-Reyes witnessed May Day in Manila, and wrote about it for the League of Revolutionary Struggle's Unity, May 16, 1986.



Meta Mendel-Reyes, director Santa Clara Center for Occupational Safety and Health, contributed to the League of Revolutionary Struggle's Unity, May 4, 1987.


In 2016 Meta Mendel-Reyes served on the board of the Highlander Research and Education Center.
